INSTAGRAM OPEN MIC! Works very much like the regular LIVE on Elgin open mic, with signups and lottos for spots, but instead of waiting patiently for your turn while sippin’ a Flash Collins, you’re now setting up your camera, and crooning to the masses on the insta!

The event will be co-hosted by Jumpin Joel Flash & Danielle Allard

IMPORTANT: This amazing open mic community simply wouldn’t have happened without the space that Live! Has provided for us. As such, in lieu of the drink or two you would have purchased at the bar, why not instead leave a tip for the staff of one of the finest venues in town?

A paypal has been set up for the event. ALL TIPS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE LIVE! ON ELGIN STAFF!

RULES:

-2 songs each (no prog-esque opuses please!)
-Must have instagram (easy peasy sharing!)

-Must have a quiet place to perform
-Must do a test of their own levels and recording equipment before the event

-ANY style of music is allowed! But remember that the Live! Open Mic is a place of happiness and smiles. As such, we have zero tolerance for Sexism, Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Harassment, Ableism, or General Hatefulness of any kind.

ORGANIZATION:

Sign up ahead of time by sending Joel or Danielle a DM! there are 17 spots. Joel will use a Random Number Generator to choose the order, and the schedule will be set up Tuesday afternoon.

Joel will begin the show, welcoming people, and asking them to follow Live!, the sponsors, and everyone who is performing.

Joel will perform his two songs, During this time, Danielle is setting up their gear in preparation. When Joel is finished, Danielle will join via split screen! there will be lovely banter, and when she completes her songs, the next artist comes in!

This setup will continue until we reach the end of the list! EASY PEASY!
