A love letter to the Canadian live music scene
Every city has a pulse. It lives in the basement venues, the weekend bar gigs, the all-ages shows at community halls, and the summer festival stages. The scene is the ecosystem of artists, venues, promoters, fans, and volunteers who keep live music alive — especially at the local level.
But the scene is fragile. Small venues close. Touring artists skip towns because they can't find a stage. Fans miss shows they would have loved because nobody told them it was happening. The infrastructure that connects it all is duct-taped together — scattered Instagram stories, word-of-mouth, and Facebook events that half the audience never sees.
Independent musicians spend more time promoting than performing. Getting the word out about a Tuesday night set at a 60-cap room shouldn't require a marketing degree.
Small and mid-size venues struggle to fill weeknight bills. They need a way to reach the people who actually want to be in the room — not just yell into the algorithm void.
You shouldn't have to follow 40 accounts and check 3 platforms just to find out what's happening this weekend. One place. All the shows. Your city.
We're building a single, open platform where anyone in the Canadian music community can discover and list live shows — for free.
No gatekeepers. No paywalls for show listings. No 15-step checkout for a $10 cover.
When the scene thrives, everyone benefits. Bars sell more drinks. Artists build real audiences. Neighbourhoods gain culture and identity. And people have a place to go on a Thursday night that isn't their couch.
The big ticketing platforms serve arenas and stadium tours. We serve the rest. The open mics, the album release parties, the 200-person rooms where you can feel the kick drum in your chest. That's the music that matters — and it deserves infrastructure that actually works.
Whether you play shows, book shows, or just go to shows — this is for you.

The people who make the scene happen
findlivemusic.ca isn't a tech company trying to "disrupt" live music. It's a community tool — built by people who go to shows, for people who go to shows. Everything here exists because someone in the scene said "we need this."
This page is about the people behind the music: the artists grinding through Tuesday night sets, the venues keeping their doors open, and the fans who show up and make it all matter.
From solo singer-songwriters to five-piece bands — if you play live, this is your network. Build a profile, list your shows, get discovered by venues and fans in your city and beyond.
Bars, clubs, theatres, community halls, house shows — if you host live music, you belong here. List your space, manage your calendar, and connect with artists who want to play your room.
The reason any of this exists. Find shows you'll love, follow your favourite artists and venues, and never miss a gig in your city again.
Flat $1.50 ticket fee. No hidden charges. Revenue splits are visible and configurable. You always know where the money goes.
Listing shows is free. Always will be. We don't paywall the scene. If you play music or host music, you can be here.
We focus on the rooms with 50–500 people — the places where music communities actually form. The big tours can take care of themselves.
A healthy music scene runs on mutual respect. A few things that keep it going:
Across Canada — from St. John's to Victoria, the scene is everywhere. Small rooms, big hearts.
Independent artists performing live in Canada. Most of them aren't on Spotify's radar — but they're in a room near you.
The Canadian live music industry generates billions — but most of it flows through a handful of major promoters. We're here for the rest.
The community is the platform. Without people showing up, playing, and sharing — none of this works. Be part of it.
